The AST Level 1+ course is designed to apprise what we feel is a gap in conventional avalanche skills training and actually getting out into terrain with the knowledge and skills to shred safely. The theory being, why learn about avalanche terrain and not the accompanying movement and travel skills. This is why we incorporate split-board specific skills in fun terrain, allowing you to find the goods and ride as safe as possible.
The early season primer is designed to get people back into split-boarding mode, so that they can enjoy a safe and fun winter in the mountains. This 2 day session will will refresh your avalanche evaluation and rescue skills, help dial in your equipment and absolutely punch your legs as we explore what the coast range has to offer, all while enjoying turns and having fun.
Three days of backcountry free-riding with professional snowboarder Marie-France Roy and an ACMG certified split-guide. This course is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who wish to expand their backcountry free-riding skills. During this course Marie and our guide will take you to the goods and share our tactics while climbing and shredding lines. Not only will we share the tools, techniques and hard-skills learned over decades of professional snowboarding, but we will discuss the human factors involved making proper decisions in the mountain environment.
WOMEN'S SPLIT WEEKEND
A women’s specific course, lead by Christine Filecki – One of a dozen Canadians to complete the ACMG apprentice ski guide exam on a snowboard, and the first woman to do so. Just as skiers and boarders each look at the mountains differently, so do woman and men, this course will examine the finer points of getting rad with your ladies.
